International Development and Policy Advocacy Committee (IDPA)

The International Development and Policy Advocacy Committee focuses on global cooperation, institutional partnerships, policy communication, international outreach, and the promotion of sustainable natural resource governance at regional and global levels. Its work covers international development strategies, policy advocacy, multilateral cooperation, global resource governance, sustainable development agendas, institutional communication, partnership building, and the dissemination of professional knowledge. The Committee serves as an important bridge between the Society, international organizations, research institutions, governments, enterprises, and civil society.

The mission of IDPA is to strengthen the international influence, cooperation capacity, and policy contribution of the Society. It seeks to translate scientific research and professional expertise into policy-relevant knowledge, strategic recommendations, and international cooperation initiatives. The Committee promotes dialogue among researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and stakeholders on key issues such as resource security, ecological protection, climate change, sustainable development, and global environmental governance.

The vision of IDPA is to make the Society an influential international platform for natural resource knowledge exchange, policy dialogue, and cooperative action. It supports a governance approach based on scientific evidence, international cooperation, mutual learning, and shared responsibility. The Committee emphasizes that natural resource challenges are increasingly transboundary and systemic, requiring coordinated responses across disciplines, sectors, and countries.

The responsibilities of IDPA include organizing international forums, policy roundtables, strategic dialogues, institutional visits, partnership programs, and advocacy activities. It may contribute to policy briefs, international reports, position papers, cooperation proposals, and communication materials. The Committee also supports the Society in participating in international conferences, building partnerships with global institutions, and enhancing its visibility in sustainable development discussions. It encourages the professional dissemination of research findings to policy and public audiences, ensuring that scientific knowledge can inform decision-making more effectively. Through its work, IDPA aims to expand international cooperation, strengthen policy impact, and contribute to more coordinated and sustainable global natural resource governance.
