Xiujun WANG (China)

Dr. Xiujun WANG is an expert with outstanding achievements in the fields of human settlement environment, urban renewal, and sustainable urban development, the Director of the YUANYE Awards Urban Design Center, Vice President of the Western Green Development Research Institute, China Geological Survey, Executive Committee Member of the International Designers Association, and Deputy Director of the Urban and Land Research Center, China University of Geosciences.
Dr. Wang has been deeply involved in lots of major projects, international professional competitions, edited many professional works, and led the planning and implementation of the Kunming World Horticultural Expo and 10 times of Garden Expos in cities of China, including Beijing, Wuhan, and Qinhuangdao. Dr. Wang has also directed key planning and consulting projects such as:
- Changsha Meixi Lake
- Xi’an Xingfu Lin (Happiness Forest)
- Beijing Master Garden Zone
- Wuhan Master Garden Zone
- Cangzhou Central Vitality Zone
- Dingzhou Ancient City Revival
- Beijing Designer Plaza
Dr. Wang has also organized the 5th and 6th Hebei International Urban Planning and Design Competitions, initiated and organized 16 sessions of the YUANYE International Competition, attracting participation from over 500 universities worldwide specializing in architecture, urban planning, landscape architecture, and environmental art, which has engaged over 500 universities (in architecture, urban planning, landscape, and environmental arts) and 10,000+ students, as well as 1,000+ design firms (architecture, landscape, and art).
