Journal of Arid Land

Journal of Arid Land (ISSN 1674-6767 print, 2194-7783 online; CN 65-1278/K) was launched in 2009 as  a monthly peer-reviewed academic publication jointly sponsored by the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Science Press, and China Society of Natural Resources. Dedicated to addressing critical issues in sustainable development and ecological management, the journal provides a scholarly platform for researchers, students, and professionals engaged in the study of arid and semi-arid regions, with a geographic emphasis on Central Asia while maintaining relevance to global dryland systems.

In July 2011, Journal of Arid Land was accepted for inclusion in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-E) and Current Contents/Agriculture, Biology & Environmental Sciences (CC/AB&ES). As reported in the 2023 Journal Citation Reports, the journal has achieved an impact factor of 2.7. Additionally, it is indexed in numerous international databases, such as Scopus (Netherlands), the Centre for Agriculture and Bioscience Abstracts (CAB Abstracts; UK), VINITI Abstracts Journal (РЖ; Russia), Cambridge Science Abstracts (CSA; USA), Ulrich’s Periodicals Directory (UPD; USA), and the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) database. Within China, the journal is recognized by the Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD), China Scientific and Technical Papers and Citations Database (CSTPCD), and the China Academic Journals Integrated Online Database.
